the journey continues
I have fiddled about on flickr, in blog info, on rss feeds and to describe and explain my experience has got all sorts of ideas running about - and difficult to encapsulate in one space ..... but I do wonder and have some concern. Quite some time ago now Sherry Turkle waxed positively lyrical about the delights of pretending to be someone else and acting out our fantasies on the digital frontier. And now we can be really rude about folk we don't think are sufficently cool and call them digital migrants (which has interesting parallels for Australians) .... but there is a problem and asking schools how they manage cyberbullying has become more important than finding out about the playground policy. But the problem lies in it playing out like Lord of the Flies with almost no visibility to people who can protect the vulnerable.

You raise some interesting points and it makes me wonder what attending school is like for this generation - mobile phones, facebook friends, diarised lifes in Flickr, and instant messaging on Twitter. And of course, video uploads of the school fights...
